The Party Wall Act places statutory duties on homeowners and occupiers
If any of the following work is being carried out, you must determine if it falls within the Act, and if it does, you must notify all Adjoining Owners:
- Building a free standing wall or wall of a building up to or astride the boundary with a neighboring property (section 1 of the Act),
- Work on an existing party wall or party structure, or building such a party wall or party structure again,
- Excavating near a neighboring building
